Path versioning or headers

Path versioning, for a small team. It is visible in logs, cacheable, and trivially explained. Header negotiation is more elegant and is the version people get wrong in curl, in caches and in the one client that matters.

It gets easier, not harder. A fair share of the difficulty is coordination, and that disappears. What remains is remembering your own decisions, which is what writing them down is for.
